Hi, Winston! We are the Cortez and Tablazon families. We’re longtime friends and Winston-Salem locals who have loved Melrose since it first opened its doors to our community. We share roots in this city and a deep love for its people, and of course, for coffee. 

A little bit about us: between the four of us, we’ve spent decades caring for people in healthcare, education and faith. Now we get to bring the same care through coffee, community and a space that we know feels like home to so many of you. 

When the opportunity came to steward this special shop, we couldn’t pass it up! Melrose has been a connecting space for so many in our neighborhood, and we’re honored and excited to continue that heart.

Our hope is simple: to keep Melrose warm, welcoming and familiar.
